What Was Obama talking about when he was refering to lipstick on a pig?

What he claimed was he was talking about McCain's policies. Problem is many in the media and the McCain camp think he was talking about Palin. It's just another example of how careful politicians should be. Just because something you say is common knowledge or a common saying where you're from, doesn't make it acceptable elsewhere.
