Why Do So Many People Like God Of War?

i believe they like it cause its suppose to be good and epic. as story wise and the graphics. Probably teh game mechanics anf level difficulty attract people. It's just a guess as I have never played GOW (cept on psp) but I don't find it exciting either. I see it as an overadvertised game and overhyped.
