How do I get my Ugg boots soft again?

I bought myself a pair of real Ugg's last year, but made the mistake of going out in them in the rain (I had sprayed suede protector on them but apparently it didn't work...) anyway they went horribly rain spotted and dark so I scrubbed them with a suede brush to try and remove the spots and now they have gone a really horrible faded colour and they are so rough. Is there anyway I can get the suede soft and smooth again?
